All air conditioners come with refrigerant contained inside their coils, where it’s used to absorb heat from the air as part of the cooling process.

Refrigerant comes in a variety of different types or blends, like R22, R410A and more recently, R32. A newer blend of refrigerant, R32 has lower Global Warming Potential (GWP) and can assist in providing more energy efficient performance.
